EOFY - Washing Machines - Frequently Asked Questions

What types of dryers are in the EOFY sale?

Our EOFY dryer range covers all four main types: vented dryers (the most affordable, but they need outside ventilation), condenser dryers (collect moisture in a tank, no venting needed), heat pump dryers (the most energy-efficient option, with longer cycles but lower running costs), and washer-dryer combos (one appliance handles both jobs).

For most Australian households, heat pump dryers offer the best long-term value despite the higher upfront price; the energy savings over years of use add up significantly. EOFY pricing makes heat pumps more accessible than usual, so it's worth comparing the running costs against the cheaper vented options before deciding.

Dryer installation depends on the type. Vented dryers need to be near an outside vent or wall opening, and most are designed to sit on a benchtop or be wall-mounted with the right bracket. Condenser and heat pump dryers don't need external ventilation, so they're more flexible on placement, though they still need clearance around the unit for airflow.

The safest approach is to follow the manufacturer's installation manual closely; where the unit is heavy or wall-mounting is involved, getting a qualified installer to handle it is the smart call. The Stan Cash team can talk through the right setup for your space and recommend a model that fits the laundry you have, not the one you wish you had.

Washer-dryer combos are one of the better options for apartments and small laundries because they handle both jobs in a single footprint, freeing up space for storage or a second appliance. They're also a strong pick for households that don't have access to outside drying or want to skip the laundry shuffle entirely.

The trade-off is that combo units typically have smaller drying capacities than standalone dryers, and the combined wash-and-dry cycle can take longer than running them separately. For couples and small households, that's rarely a deal-breaker; for larger families, a separate washer and dryer setup often makes more sense. EOFY pricing covers both options, so it's worth weighing up before committing.
